Homeschool Catalog Highlights for 2015

February 20, 2015 by BJU Press Writer

You want your children to grow in wisdom and knowledge and joy this year, and we here at BJU Press are ready to partner with you in reaching that goal. For more than forty years, we’ve been producing homeschool materials with a biblical worldview, giving your children a sound education as well as instilling in them a joy for learning. We’re excited to introduce you to some of the highlights of our 2015 homeschool catalog.

Both BJU Press 2015 Homeschool Catalogs.

Catalog Format

The first thing  you will notice about this year’s homeschool catalog is that it’s really two catalogs in one. One half of the catalog features our Distance Learning materials, while the other half features all our textbooks. This change should make ordering less confusing and should help you find what you need faster.

Discount and Payment Plan Changes

We’ve updated our discount and payment plan this year to help our homeschooling families. In the past, homeschoolers have had to purchase two Full-Grade Distance Learning Kits to be eligible for the payment plan. Now, all orders over $499 (even those that don’t include any Distance Learning items) will be eligible. If you opt to enroll in the payment plan, you will be required to pay 30% down, but the rest of the order total will be divided into six equal payments that will be automatically charged to your credit card on a monthly basis. You won’t pay any interest at all.

Also, when you buy two or more Distance Learning Grade Kits, we’re still going to give you $50 off each kit. And, to make our Distance Learning products even more affordable, we’re also offering a 25% discount on each kit when you buy three or more subject kits.

New Textbook Kits

We have always made it our aim to publish textbooks that teach grade-level academic content from a thoroughly biblical worldview. Since publishing our very first textbook in 1974, we have made it our goal to continually improve our textbooks. This year, the following textbooks have been revised. We think you’ll love these new editions.

  • Math 1
  • Spelling 1
  • Reading 2
  • Heritage Studies 4
  • Science 4
  • Bible Truths 6 (Check out the corresponding BJU Press Bible app!)
  • Cultural Geography
  • Chemistry (Read more about the new edition in this blog post by one of our science authors.)

New Distance Learning Products

With Distance Learning, your child can work at his or her own pace, supported by our Distance Learning teachers, who will teach your son or daughter directly, using a variety of creative means that capture attention and appeal to different learning styles.

For 2015, we’re excited to announce several new Distance Learning products. All the sixth-grade Distance Learning courses have been revised for 2015. These courses have new video content and use the most current textbook editions. The video content has also been condensed so that your child will be able to complete the lessons faster. Tenth-grade World History is also new this year.

Now when you purchase a Distance Learning Grade Kit with books, you’ll receive a free Vacation Stations workbook to help your child retain the things he or she is learning, even during long breaks from school.

There’s also a new reason for users to love Distance Learning Online because they will now receive copies of available VitalSource® eTextbooks. These eTextbooks can be downloaded on multiple devices and have note-sharing and study features.

We hope these changes for 2015 will really benefit you and your family. Have a great school year!
