I attended a technology conference this summer and was introduced to an app called Face Talk.
Face Talk is an app that allows you to upload or take a photo and make it talk. You simply add the mouth to the photo and then record what you want your image to say. The possibilities are endless!
As soon as that app was introduced, I knew I wanted to use it in my classroom for a science activity. At the end of the second chapter, the students have the opportunity to do simple science reports on animals. They research animals including where those animals live, what they eat, and what they’re classified as. I also let them tell me two random fun facts about each animal. We do this as an extra credit project. After the students brought in their projects, they were able to use the information from their reports to make a Face Talk video.
They saved their videos and emailed them to me. Then I emailed the videos to their parents. The kids had such a good time with this app. It was simple for them to use. They loved it, and so did I!
Have you used Face Talk before? What techie activities have you been able to use in science class?
